Is not using a case, okay?

Daniel123dk

So, I got down to, that my pc case made a short on my motherboard (dont know why or how it happened)

Im now not willing to use the same case again, and im still waiting for some New cases that i like.

Does it harm my hardware to let the pc run on my motherboard box in the next few weeks, until ive bought a new case?

No, it's totally fine. Just make sure you don't accidently hit it or something similar.
You'll also have to clean it more often, because dust can easily settle on it.

And please don't short anything out or spill water on your motherboard... But I guess you know that already :P

I was running my testbench like that for well over a year, so you should be fine (if your careful around it) ;)

This is an excellent question. Overall it would kind of be like a test bench, which wouldn't be a big deal. Having the components out in the air like that wont hurt them, as long as your clean it regularly.

What i would be worried about is the box. Having that much hardware on a box that could catch on fire would freak me out. I don't think it would be an issue other than the box.

I've used a PC without a case for years. It's fine, just keep it clean.

Beer? Beer has alcohol. That makes it okay.

As long as it doesn't include those pesky con-ducks you should be fine

You probably already know the answer: it will technically work, but you have to ne really careful around your PC for this time.

Well, I dont have any light candles in my room or anything that would start a fire. Unless my pc is able to?

I mean, heat causes fire. Cardboard boxes are pretty good to burn. I dont think you would have an issue but i would be careful.
