Hello I'm looking for a pretty cheap costing mechanical keyboard. I very much enjoy MX Cherry Browns, but I will take pretty much anything else.

I do not want too much noise and I do not want a small keyboard (I need a numpad)

How cheap is "cheap" $75, $100, $150?

logitech g710+

The reviews are saying that it is horrible and the keys are faulty, bad back lighting and such, and it's "horrible quality". I know I have to take hits on a budget keyboard, but those reviews are harsh.

Not sure why they say that. Mine is magnificent. Keys are fine. Back lighting is good. It may just be luck of the draw.

reallllly like this keyboard's aesthetic: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OBA6QYY

it's actually not that bad. i have one myself and it's a great keyboard. plus it's one of the few mainstream boards with mx browns.

i have to vouch for the backlighting though, as it doesn't light up everything evenly. the row with the 'G' macros also mess me a bit with typing, but it's not a huge deal

Pretty sure this is the cheapest MX-blue keyboard out there rn http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0038KLIPA

My list of keyboards (that I own and have used):

  • That one you linked jaffer. (Blue Switches)
  • Logitech G710+ (Brown Switches)
  • Monoprice Blue Switch Mechanical Keyboard (Blue Switches)
  • Cooler Master Quickfire TK (Red switches)
  • There are like 3 more.
  • My current keyboard (White Switches)

All are Cherry MX switches. Why did I list those? To say that of them all, my favorites go White > Browns > Blues > Reds, and that the keyboard jaffer listed was good, as was the G710+, and the Monoprice one, not the CM Quickfire (but that was a personal preference and not based on quality).

I don't think you can go wrong. Most keyboards I've used were of the cheapest available at the time (the "3 more" I mentioned) and none were bad in a way that would make me annoyed with using them.

Just don't get Ten Keyless unless you know you are fine with it (in the way the Quickfire TK implements it anyway).

Um, I'm just suggesting him. I have a K65 and I'm fine with that, but nice post anyways.

The reviews are old. They fixed the cheap keycaps at the end of 2014 and support has been replacing claims with entirely new keyboards. Check how old the reviews are and or when they got their keyboard. I find there are old and jaded users still leaving bad feedback for a problem that was already solved a year ago. And there's a 3 year warranty so Logitech would have fixed it for these ppl if they'd bothered to even get it fixed.

The lighting is just plain, there's nothing wrong with them they don't do anything flashy, they just make it possible to use your keyboard in the dark.

Price is hard to beat at $80 USD street value. And if you have a deal going on even cheaper. I got mine for $50 USD.
