Is this build good for 300 US?

Trey222

My friend wants to buy a laptop for 300 US I told him he could get way better performance by building a PC for the same price. This is the build I came up with tell me how I did. Cpu i5 2400, 4gb ram, hyper 212 Evo, intel dh77kc LGA 1155 board, corsair cx 430watt psu, 500gb hard drive, and the GTX 950 for the GPU. Most of these parts are from Ebay. Tell me how the build is and if I can improve it. As of now the total cost is around 330. Thank you for your help.

Lose the CPU cooler (unless the CPU doesn't come with the stock cooler) and invest into a better PSU. Try to go for either a SeaSonic or XFX one.

Be nice to each other boys and girls. And don't cheap out on a power supply.

Also note that building a pc doesn't include a monitor or other peripherals, where a laptop does include them, at least the monitor and a keyboard.

Well if you don't want to risk using used parts then here, I generally wouldn't recommend used parts if it's a first and only rig, as at least you have warranties with new stuff.

Oh yeah I have been buying Xeons lately and completely forgot about stock cooler. After looking at that PSU I am definitly going to get a new one. My build has the XFX Pro 850 which is a great PSU.

I have always bought used with no problem. This build is nice but the GTX 950 will destroy the the integrated graphics on the A8
