Don't bother, iirc it's not profitable anymore using consumer GPU and you'll simply reduce the lifespan of that laptop.

is it worth it?
i have the msi gt72 2QD dominator pro and am a college student where electricity is basically free.
if so how much would i be able to get?

I wouldn't do it, with a laptop at least. It will kill it faster an you won't get much from it. If you want to build a cheap system useing used components, then go right ahead, not my money to burn.

you might get a few cents a month

is that worth decreasing the lifespan of your laptop by several years?
