What about using your BIOS?

Most motherboard manufacturers provide software (ASRock A-Tuning, ASUS Fan Xpert, etc.)

i like linux

This is how you usually do it. You can set up a a curve so as temp goes up the fan speed does too.

Id rather do BIOS than software as some can be crappy. Especially Command Center from MSI.

You can usually control fans connected to your motherboard through your bios settings.
