Lightworks is probably the most feature-rich free video editing software.

I'm looking for a video editor that's relatively simple but will let me out in simple silly things like floating/flashing text and effects and what not. I'm actually not sure if there is software like that for people who casually want to make videos like that but if there is can someone please point me in the right direction.
