Well, with an i7, GTX 1080, Full tower and flashy lights, it can obviously only be for one thing:

Solitaire.

It will only be about a 90 pound increase in price, and the performance buff will be significant.

its not really the FPS difference its just dual cores arnt cutting it anymore and some games dont even start with dual cores. Its only get worse as new games come out, maybe you could lend him the money and he can pay you back for the difference?

That is correct.

My bad, not used to prices in other countries, forgot that the pound is much more than the dollar.

Well, it is only 50 pounds, an the 4460 wont bottleneck a 980ti.

As for atatistics, i am not in a position to provide them right now, but i promise you that the performance boost is worth 50 pounds.

So anyway let me explain. Farcry 4 used to not even LAUNCH on dual cores because the game really needed the 4 cores after a while they eventually patched it, but creators have stopped considering dual cores and more focusing on multi cores. Thats why the 860k is considered better than the pentium g3258
