Now for the big question, how?

unplug all your old drives

plug in your new SSD

put windows 10 on a USB and boot from the USB

install windows

install updates and make sure everything is running properly

make sure your new SSD is set as 1st priority in the boot order in UEFI

plug in all your old drives, and you can move files and documents/music/videos onto your new SSD or keep them on your old drive

if possible, i would move all files to your SSD, format the old drive to get rid of the old windows installation and programs, then move files back to the freshly formatted drive

but this only works if you have enough space for all your files/documents/media on the new SSD

you clean install it :)

When you do a full reset choose that m.2 drive as your drive to put it on. Or thats how I believe you do it

You could always clone your hard drive to the new M.2 drive using a tool like GParted or Acronis True Image, although it can be a bit harder than just installing a fresh Windows copy.

cloning is not a good idea because a lot of the time a bit will not be copied properly

this can cause immediate or long term issues with the OS, which can only be fixed by doing a clean install

so the best way is to do a clean install in the first place and avoid all the potential issues
