Killer Ethernet E2200 Issues

Dive5885

Hey Everyone!

So here it goes..

The Killer E2200 that comes with my MSI Z87 XPower has been giving me issues since day one.

It likes to disconnect and connect randomly, sometimes it wont even connect to the internet.

I switched to the motherboards built in WiFi for now but I would like to figure out what to do, should I buy a Ethernet card or a better Wireless adapter?

Maybe I should get a new motherboard lol?

Mobo WiFi Model : Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230

So what do you guys think?

Let me know!

Thanks!

That Intel chipset is decent. Unless you're constantly doing massive local network file transfers, I would just run with it.

I speak the honest truth with a bit of snark mixed in. I'm sorry if it doesn't line up with your beliefs.

No massive transfers.

Just HD and 4K video viewing and gaming.

You'll be fine with the Intel chipset.

To be honest, Killer Ethernet stuff is not worth it anyway. It promises performance gains, but usually works slower than the other solutions in high end systems,

I uninstalled the Killer tools and now I just have the bare NIC driver, it's so much better. Not a single issue since uninstalling.

I have the bare driver installed and I still have issues with it.
