So yea... But who knows maybe I'll try it if I'm home over an upcoming weekend and we have sub -20C temps incoming. Would be hilarious troll being like look at my sub 0 setup... O wait, it's just a really fucking cold room...

The X-1 coolant I use can handle -15C without freezing and my loop has a lot of heat pollution (although in order to test this, I'd probably underclock everything.)

So it probably wouldn't be an issue.

ok people i have tested the lakes of the sky with the phase. it seems to scale great on cold, but not with voltage, past 1.5v they seem to suck at -60c.

With the single stage and no delid i have tested both the i3 6320 and i5 6600K. They were both tested upto 1.7v and the load temps were just getting over 0c on the cpu's and max evap temp was -55c or -56c on the 6600K.

6600K results and pics air (yes ik the pics are poo)

Well, I will certainly be following this, as I have spare LGA775 systems I can beat the snot out of. I plan to try using about 400W of peltier coolers because I can. First I need to buy them. I know they are extremely poor at moving heat, as they just MAKE more heat than anything, but they are cheap as chips.

My HP WX4600 towers have some of the best intel chipsets and CPUs in them, but the damn things have no overclocking options. Screw you too, HP.

With properly cooled VRMs and chipset, how far should I be able to push a core2duo with 400W of peltier cooling and a watercooling loop keeping the hot side cooled down?

well that pot was like £100 courtesy of me finding it for him :P. but a pot will be £100+ pretty much anywhere.

in the uk dice isn't that easy to get. you can get it delivered if you shop online. ln2 is approx £1/l but you'll need a dewar to store it

it's what you store ln2 in as it will reduce the evaporation. I think you'll be shelling out 600 euro for a used one from hwbot (50l capacity). the ln2 service I intend to use will loan you one for £50 though :)
