Poweredge 1850 Help

ahuckphin
Go to solution Solved by Centurius,

Servers, especially 1U's, will run extremely loud. Unless you can clearly see something wrong in the hardware or get weird things on fhe software you'll be fine.

i have an poweredge 1850 1u server and i was wondering whether it was normal for the server to be extremely loud upon pressing the power button

(the top panel was closed when i on the system)

Yes, they normally run 100% Fans at all times.

When in BIOS, fans doesn't run at loud as when first boot up. So does normally mean most of the time?

If you're looking for a quick way to possibly make them a little quieter, most servers have a bios option labeled "Power Setting" set this to power save or Dynamic power save. This should keep the fans spinning slightly slower, additionally if the server comes with a dedicated management port (In your case IDRAC) you might be able to configure additional fan settings in there.

The poweredge 1850 is renound in the IT world for being louder than a jet engine. Your server is fine.

My native language is C++

Everything he said. I had a Dell switch run this loud once. Then they released a new flash for it.
