It's very rare to get a dead CPU, most of the time it'll be the motherboard.

It's very rare to get a dead CPU, most of the time it'll be the motherboard.

to be sure you would need a spare motherboard, spare CPU and spare RAM ... yeah I know, diagnostics can be a pain!

You could always go to a local PC shop you trust and see if they could help you figure out what's wrong ... seems weird but most of those stores employ people that like to play around with PCs, most of the time they will gladly help you for free.

 

They have spare parts that will help you pin point the problem.
