Witcher 3 - 100% CPU Usage when Minimised?

For some reason, my non-steam Witcher 3 game causes my CPU to be at 100% load when I minimise it. When the game is paused and it is still open, CPU usage is at around 10-15%. When playing, it is around 25%. Why is it at 100% when it is minimised? What is there for the CPU to even do when it is minimised?

Latest version 1.12 and Hearts of Stone DLC installed too.

That takes so long to configure, 10-20 seconds everytime I want to turn it on/off. Not convenient.

What? why would you ever turn it off? just run it in borderless window at all times, then you can just easily move in and out of the program

20 seconds is crazy, does it almost instantly on my pc

Generally borderless window is more stable than alt-tab

Isn't that bad for performance? For some reason, I seem to think that full screen dedicates more resources. Also, I can't see my desktop - it is always on top even if I press the bottom-right thing which opens up desktop.

does not effect performance for me, it shouldn't either, its still giving CPU and GPU the same instructions!

I cannot see my taskbar in borderless windows, but if I open steam overlay or the inventory, I can click off onto my second monitor

Or if I alt tab it leaves the game running without pausing so it doesnt mess up

Don't know what you mean by mess up - it just pauses the game? :D

Also, good method, but I don't have steam.

As for performance, maybe it doesn't on high-end machines so that shouldn't be a problem for me but generally. Anyways, thanks for the contribution and no one else seems to care - was thinking other people had the same experience.
