If it doesn't crash and doesn't run at 100C it's safe. There are no such thing as safe clocks, safe voltage maybe, but you didn't even tell how much voltage you added.

there are no clockspeed sweetspots, every card is different. Only guidelines are temperatures and stability.

All the bioses lock you to *basically* safe overclocking limits. crashes will suck for you, but it wont damage the card. voltage and power past the limits does damage, but like I said, bios limited to what they think is *safe*

hmm ok,for gpu, idling temps and load temps ,any idea for the ranges, such that it wouldnt drastically affect longevity

You might want to get the VRAM clock higher to 1750. The ram runs in 125mhz straps up from 1250. So by running at 1720 you can possible get lower performance in game than 1625. Also try bumping up the core clock more which helps the most

+80mv core and +50mv aux is all you should need. The 390's really don't like voltage

didnt know about scaling of vram and core clock to be so impt in terms of combination...

is there a guide to this?

using unigine heaven as stress test also btw

Check them out. They know a ton about overclocking the 390s. I think 1150 core and 1750 memory will be an excellent combo for your card

It's different for everyone, but unigine heaven only gave me temps, stability wise it was really easy to bench with heaven. Games would still artifact after loops of heaven. I would recommend firestrike and watching closely for artifacts. 3 loops of that and you're golden
