Windows 10 Watermark "Activate Now" Removal

Hello! 

 

I hope removing this watermark isn't illegal :/

 

Anyway, so I have a trial version of windows 10 and it doesn't seem to be running out, so I just wanted to try and remove this watermark in the corner of my screen. If anyone knows a way to remove it that would be great.

 

Oh and please don't say: r/softwareswap or Just buy it because I would rather save money on games.

It technically wouldn't be illegal, as you wouldn't be activating it, just removing the watermark. (okay, maybe it is illegal or at least infringing something of Microsoft, just not pirating)

 

I know this http://winaero.com/download.php?view.1794 removes the technical build watermarks, I don't know if it will work for the trial activation thing.

I didn't hack windows.. you can get windows 10 for free, just press on "skip for now" when the windows 10 installer is asking for a licence key.

 

so no, I just used windows 10 media creation tool just like normal and chose "skip for now" and It's still working after 2 months. Just this annoying watermark :/

When it decides to expire you will end up with a hugely cutdown version of windows, for example most of the customisation options will stop working, also you won't recieve any windows updates at all.

 

If you really want a free OS thats legal just sign up to the windows insider program with an MS account and then add th account to your OS and join the insider program. As long as you keep testing beta patches and updates you can have the OS for free forever.

I don't think you can, as personalisation is locked. You could just stick a post it note there :P If you did some how find a way of unlocking personalisation, it would most likely count as piracy, or is very difficult to do. You don't look at your desktop much anyway so I wouldn't worry.

personalization isn't locked, I have my own background and lock screen saver.

and it has been well over 2 months. The only thing that still exists is the damn windows activate thing, its not "too" annoying, but if there is a way to remove i would be happy :D

Yea everyone keeps saying windows insider, I might do that once I get fed up. The only thing that I am scared about in the windows insider program is that it gives you beta versions of windows xD

So you could always take your screenshot in paint. Take the dropper tool. Pick the colour of the watermark. Create new canvas floor fill background colour from the dropper.

Save the image. Set image as desktop background.

In that case it must be part of the windows GUI, which you'll have to find and remove.

Mine says my product key is blocked so it won't activate

How can it be blocked if I never used the windows 10 pro key on anything and yes I did a clean install of Windows 10 on a hard drive I didn't care about just to test it on my alienware alpha before I decide to upgrade to Windows 10 on its main drive

I hate how everyone is saying "just buy it." Sometimes paying over $100 for an OS isn't an option,  especially with teenagers who already spent all their money on the actual computer. And this isn't piracy. Windows will still remain unactivated regardless of the watermark being present
