so today i bought R9 Fury

and it had this thing bent: http://i.imgur.com/jCW6inK.jpg

there was no way i could screw it into the place

after a few minutes of freaking out and thinking... i just zip-tied it :)

it sits firmly in place now

i don't know if it's bad, but hell, it was only 400$ :)

How was it being advertised? Brand new? Used?

It should work fine, but it might not be held in as strongly as it should be.  That's also assuming that whatever damaged that piece didn't hurt the rest of the card.

Assuming it's possible on your card  unscrew the piece from the card/cooler and bend it back.

I've had this happen before from accidentally leaving a thumbscrew in and trying to take the card out of the case.  You should be able to remove that metal piece, but I'm not positive about the fury.

Did they tell you that a part of it was partially bent?

no, they said it was like new

i got it via post office, but they couldn't damage it since it was very well wrapped

Then you could claim it was false advertising.

i would if it was like 550$ or so (new is 630 here...)

but since it was so cheap...i kinda expected something to be wrong with it, but i risked it

as long as it works good i shouldn't make a drama

i just wanted to share this to see what you guys think :)

[removed]

Advertisement is advertisement - like new pretty much means no damage, especially not one that affects function. Maybe I should stop now.

I/O bracket metal is not that crappy, it's actually quite fexible and can be bent many times without breaking. Though if it's bent enough to make you think that it would break if you tried to bend it back then you should claim false advertising since they said it was like new. Maybe you could get a bit of your money back and keep the card.
