upgrading a laptops video card?

Kobrastachka
Go to solution Solved by Guest,

HP EliteBook 8560w

Googled it and some people say yes others say no.

You should contact HP directly.

Also its worth noting that buying a new laptop GPU will be VERY expensive.

(The 970M costs more than a desktop 970)

I am most likely going to buy a hp elite book 8560w and I was wondering if the video card would be upgrade able down the road, and do you guys think its safe to upgrade it?

In most laptops it's not possible to upgrade anything except RAM or storage. Most of the stuff is soldered on.

no you cant. most laptops can only upgrade ram/hdd, like this one

This laptop takes cards, I see some people selling them with custom gpus but they are always very similar models. I want to know if I could put like a 7970m in it. I dont know if there would be power restraints or .... idk

Like everyone else said, the GPU is typically something that's never upgradable in a laptop.

LTT just did a video about an $800 laptop from Dell that's made for gaming.

You should check that out.
