So I know how you build the PC outside the case to see if it posts and all the parts are working, I'm building a PC for a friend and I have all the parts expect a case, (The case is broke and they had to order a new one) I've already tested outside the case to make sure everything works and I was wondering if I can in the mean time install Windows on the hard using a flash drive on the "Test Bench" (building on motherboard box)? If so how should the parts be layed out? Thanks!

The motherboard should sit face up on the box, everything else doesn't really matter and can sit on the surface around the box. You can certainly install Windows in this state assuming your HDD is connected.

Almost as cool as my temps

make sure that the motherboard has the ram and cpu and cooler installed. also make sure the hard drive is plugged in. the hard drive, motherboard and power supply should all sit on different pieces of cardboard without them touching each other. You dont want any short circuits now do you ;)
