I'm looking for a used (new to me) laptop to buy off of ebay. I want a thin (under .9") and under 4 lbs. It needs at least a i5 prossesor and 4 gigs of RAM. Its battery needs to last over 5 hours. The prossessor needs to be either ivy bridge or haswell. Any suggestions for a model?

Grab a Samsung Series 9, or whatever the newer equivalent is. I have one and it's been awesome, still running strong and it's almost 4 years old.

Do NOT, however, get a laptop with less than 8GB of RAM. I have 4GB and I'm looking to replace it for that reason alone. I constantly run out of memory, and it causes a lot of browser crashing.

Look at something like a thinkpad t440 or x240 or a dell e7240 or e7440. These are business grade and are normally better build and more reliable than standard consumer grade laptops out there.

Having owned (and still do) a e7440, I would not recommend it, even if you can get it at a great price like I did. The trackpad is complete garbage, the battery is very low quality (after less than 100 charge cycles, I'm down to 60% battery health). However, it is reliable, as it should be, and build quality is only ok.
