Windows 10 start button not working

Yeah, don't know what's going on, but the forums isn't letting me post my next instructions. I'll try again tomorrow, I guess?

Managed to figure out how to fix now thanks, rolled back to previous version of windows 10, thanks for the help anyway

open taskmanager and restart windows-explorer.exe that should do the trick

It used to happen with my install when windows was updating or wanting to restart

Is there any way of fixing this without having to reset OS

it happened to me when windows had an update to install. From your desktop hover over your start button and right click. If this is the problem it will allow you to update and restart or install and restart or some combo like that xD Try that. Good luck!

Unfortunately, the problem arose straight after i had updated , am going to try a system restore

Well , Windows 10 officially sucks, maybe  Microsoft realised that my windows 7 ultimate which i upgraded to 10 pro was not legit :mellow:

I doubt that is the problem....but I would seriously recommend getting a legit copy of Windows. Pirating isnt cool bro.

Windows ten does suck. 

I had this issue with -3- installs of windows 10. Went back to 8.1, no regrets. Actually, I kinda miss the cool calendar, but i think it's worth the trade off...

It's unlikely that a full OS Reset is necessary, but it will almost definitely be faster than a proper repair.

 

If you haven't run the reset yet, I may have something for you. First, I need to know what build you're running. Do the following:

Press Windows key + R, type in "winver" without quotes, press enter. Type in the forums exactly what version and build number of Windows the pop up Window says you're running. Depending on that, I may have a fix.

did you do a clean install of 10 when you first installed it
