Posted January 22, 2016 So my grandparents need a computer, so I can either sell them mine (Without the GPU) or build them a new one. I figured that I may be able to just make a new build without a GPU for myself. My first thought for this was an Athlon X4 760K. How does this compare to an i3 4130 in gaming? All I play is Minecraft, and I'd like to record it. Currently I get 90fps recording (about 300-400 when I'm not). I was wondering if I'd be able to get more fps recording with the Athlon or another CPU around that price point? The Athlon is a quad core and is clocked a little higher, so maybe it'll do better recording? I'm not sure. But basically I'd like to try getting better fps while recording. My budget with an OS is about $400, but I already have an R9 270.
