I have a dedicated graphics card in my pc. It only had two display output ports, and I'm working on a project where I need three monitors. If i get a usb to vga adapter such as this one (http://www.monoprice.com/Product?p_id=12627&gclid=CjwKEAiAoIK1BRCRiMqphvnlwlwSJAAOebPMVXKPANuZEgQqU6NAjX3Bt23p23H-lL2Kz6fR5JLCqhoCC3vw_wcB), and plug it into the mother board. Will it use the dedicated  graphics card's horsepower? Or the integrated gpu's horsepower? Or does it do something else?

The card has 1 displayport, and 1 dvi port. The card itself is a amd card, but I don't know what model. It's at another location and I don't have access to it right now (I can tell you tomorrow if necessary). But is that really necessary to answer this question? :)  :D

you can daisychain display port

I was not aware of this, good to know. But it will not solve the problem in this situation. The monitors I have available to use for this project don't have display port input or output. They only have dvi or vga. I'm using dvi to dvi to drive one monitor, and I am using a displayport to dvi adapter to drive the second monitor.

not totally sure...Ive never used a usb to vga adapter...my guess is ..it has its own built in converter

So (for example) basically even if i had a titan x, the usb to vga adapter won't be able to play gta v, because it is basically another super crappy graphics card?

One more thing I just remembered, i found tutorials online on how to use two displays from the graphics card, and one display using the outputs from the motherboard (i'm guessing the motherboard output would use the Integrated Gpu). It basically involves bios settings changes where you set Igpu to be always on, and to be primary. So if you run a game using that setup will it somehow combine strengths with Igpu and dedicated gpu, or select one or what. Let me know if I wasn't clear in my question

if you use the igpu..it will use its power to render the output..not the graphics card

what exactly are you trying to do with his 3 monitor setup?

super super cheap gaming setup to play counter strike, but still have the triple monitor "feeling". He just wants to have the triple monitor setup, and I'm just helping him out. And yes i know al the usualy stuff, pro players dont need three monitors etc... but he's just playing for fun.

Anyway, so ya that makes sense. One monitor will be rendered by the Igpu, and the other two will be rendered by the dedicated graphics card, but what happens when you stretch the game window across all three screens, or choose an aspect ratio that covers all three screens. Like, the dedicated card isn't going to render 2/3 of the game, and the IGPu render 1/3 of the game right.
