Thermal paste Question :D

So guys, I bought a NH-D14 for my 4820K but this wont be coming with paste likely since it's 2nd hand, I have some cooler master E2 thermal paste laying around but would it be worth buying some IC Diamond or Arctic Silver 5?

Honestly what you have already will be fine, unless you care about an extra couple degrees, generally the difference is negligible 

 

id just use what you have, but if you can be bothered, and have the money, better paste wont hurt

I'd say not really. From personal tests, even the highest grade vs crappiest thermal paste didn't have a real impact on temps, given that it was installed properly.

 

Isn't that coolermaster paste also silver based?

If you fancy spending £5 for an extra degree or two then great, go ahead.

 

The one supplied is more than adequate.

The difference will probably be like 2-4 degrees max. I would just use what I have.

You can just aswell use absolutly nothing and your temperatures jump up by 5°C...
Just use the CoolerMaster stuff. It works and you don't have to waste money for a 0.00[...]0002°C temperature drop.

Only get new thermal paste when you run out of what you have! That is if your system needs a re-pasting 2-3 years down the line.
