Monitor or Television for watching TV?

I'm looking for a new display exclusively for Netflix and my raspberry pi.

Option 1:

32" 1080p Television

pros:

- bigger screen

- remote control for volume and input switching

- TV speakers

cons:

- more expensive

- bulky heavy

- Paying for TV feature which I won't use

- panels can be crappy

27" 1080p IPS Monitor

Pros:

- IPS panel

- better quality display

- cheaper

- not paying for TV feature which I won't use

cons:

- no remote for input switching

- have to fiddle with hdmi splitters / adapters

- smaller screen

- probably no speakers

What would you guys choose?

I'm sure there are 30" 1080p monitors

but pretty much for TV you want the largest " screen...

Yeah it is a little, at the end of my bed, not quite sure how long that is but I know that a 24" screen is too small

end of the bed, 32 or bigger IMO, maybe even a 40 or sometihng, (depends how long your bed is)

A TV and Monitor will be no different in quality tbh

I remembered last time I also wanna buy a tv...but in the end didn't.

You can go to amazon check out some of their best selling Samsung TVs.

It is quite good.

IPS panel, 1080p and so on

If it is not broken, let's fix till it is.

ehh, I've had TV problems where they're 50hz panels which I think was the cause of the ghosting I was seeing from video content, finding the right kind of TV which I know will play my files correctly isn't too easy

that would not cause ghosting, most modern good quality TVs should not have many issues

everything really depends on your budget (and country)

I would go with a tv if you are going to watch from far away.
