What is the difference between the RM, and the RMi series, and which one should I get for my system?

Here you can see all of the differences between the two models.

RMi doesn't use crappy Ltec capacitors, and it has other improvements overall to quality.

True and to make it simpler the rm is version 1.0 that is okay but pretty bad and the rmi is version 2.0 which is way better, I actually have a rmi series power supply in my computer, a corsair rm1000i tbh

Yes they are but a test has been done and the rmi is more efficient by a couple percent

And has less rippling

If there's a different in efficiency, it will be by a meager few 0.X%, in which can be explained by manufacturer variances between samples. At the end of the day, the RMx and RMi is essentially the same CWT platform, where the Corsair Link feature had been removed, the usage of a rifle fan instead of FDB, no self-test fan switch, and it's a single rail PSU without the switching ability to multirail on the RMx.

As for ripple suppression, it's pretty much <20mVpp on all rails on both 1000w units. The only time it exceeded 20mVpp was on the overload test on the 12v rail @ 23mVpp (again, not worth mentioning).

Ok so considering the rm is not that much cheaper I should defenitly get a rmi?

Yes. The RMi is a welcome improvement in terms of internal component quality and electrical performance compared to the RM, especially if at a moderate price difference.
