This graph over here, compares a 2 fan model with some 2/3 fan models.

A bit of a better comparison.

A better comparison would be using the same cooler- strix vs strix, TF vs TF, windforce vs windforce, etc.

Snip chart

A bit of a better comparison.

this is more along the lines what i was looking for. decent chart imo

though for your other build you just posted are you sure 550w will be enough the 980ti requirements takes a 600min\

not to say it wont work but dont you think thats kinda pushing it

Should be quite enough, if you want to be safe just change it to a 600W(EVGA G2/GS gets my reccomendation) for a bit more overclocking headroom. Also, this is waaaaay good for 1080p. I'd just reccomend you to go for 1440p instead of 1080p.

If he was going sli with it then maybe, but as is, it won't even use more than 400w so an 80 plus gold won't make much of a difference not to mention this is a high quality seasonic psu. http://images.anandtech.com/graphs/graph9306/74803.png

Oh can't post images on mobile.

Good entry power supply, but not good enough for a 980ti. Especially if he wants to overclock.

1080p lol this is more along the lines of 4k(almost) should play 1440 easily

it would be good for 4k... i'd make it so i was 10 fps faster... in gta V, but like 100 fps faster in every other game I play...

I know that this unit(and most of XFX's PSUs) are seasonic made. Imho PSU > GPU.

The manufacuter's site always puts more wattage required due to sketchy power supplies. 550w should be plenty.

well i was going to post a fury, but he already shot down all the build that had it in it already... its basically a fragile tower of straws to hold a 6600k and a 980ti

Too bad that most of the graphs are not that detailed. They mostly use one of everything.

And once you get to that point, you would want same fan speed (just like how Linus used to test cases iirc) and noise level.
