I'm bored - Random conversation starter

Alir

I'm bored. Hence I have decided to make a random conversation starter.

Lets have a thread where we discuss completely random things for random reasons and we can all talk about random things together.

I'm not drunk. I'm a little bored though.

Lets begin.

The whether is bee or to feel isn't it?

EDIT: In the interest of this thread not getting blocked, would I be able to plead to the admins and ask that the blood of this thread be sparred? Oops. I mean spared.

Ok seriously though, I just need some random things to think about to prepare me for my operation before I go into the operating room. Ok twas a lie. pls just dont delete this

does your consensus come from the memory part of your brain? Thus is it possible to map out a brain and use a capacitor for every neuron and will that give the robot full consensus?

Need some advice on keeping costs low?

I'd also suggest getting a job if you haven't already. I'm assuming you're in school or college

The Raspberry Pi is frickin' amazing.

If you don't have one - buy one now, even if you have no use for it. You'll find a use for it. Trust me. :)

I actually couldn't underclock my 5 year old GPU to make it as slow as a next-gen console.

I second that!!

Though honestly I haven't done anything with mine.

I have the old one - before the quad core.

Not sure what it's called.

What did you do with yours may I ask?

Craap I feel so sorry for you :/

Are you up for learning how to overclock?

1) I would recommend getting an overclockable pentium G3258 and a £20 cooler and overclocking it as much as possible without the temps getting too high.

2) don't bother with aesthetics even if your colors don't match

3) get a cheap simple case, doesn't need top notch cooling!

4) Don't bother with a DVD drive unless it is absolutely vital

5) Get a 2.5" SSHD/hybrid drive. They're perfect for price-performance. The small form factor helps keep costs low

6) Get a cheap but not too cheap PSU. It doesn't matter if it's modular or not.

7) Cheap motherboard by a decent brand

8) £50 or less GPU.

Those are my tips if you want an affordable rig. ;)

I could get a Q9400, mobo, GTX 580, and a PSU for ~$210 on Ebay. Crazy to think you can build something that epic for that cheap

CPU:

Oh and if you're not going to overclock, go with AMD. The intel pentium is great but if you don't want to overclock, go with AMD since they're almost always cheaper

Everything I said stands.

Just get a £150-£200 GPU. I'd recommend AMD since they'll be cheaper - though that isn't necessarily true.

You will also want an approximately 600 or 700W PSU. Unless anyone thinks that would be overkill. Honestly though the Wattage of your PSU will depend on which GPU you go for.

If you're wondering about the pentium, yes it is a pentium but it is unlocked. If you overclock it, you can get the performance of an almost i5 when gaming which is sick!
