tower starting for a few seconds

Go to solution Solved by e9959958,

Truns out my mobo was dead, it started working again after I changed it. Thanks for your support!!!

I've been using my rig for almost a year now. A few days ago, I shut it down to go to work. I came back two hours later, and my pc was powering up for almost a second then closing. I tried a few things:

- power it on without any accessories

- power it on with only RAM, CPU and Psu connected

- clearing CMOs

- a few configuration a RAM and an other stick

- an other CPU

- I tried using a brand new PSu, and it is still not working

I now think that it is the motherboard, but I wanted suggestions before buying a new one or reclaiming an RMA.

Help would be really appreciated,

thanks.

My specs:

  •  gpu: GTX Titan
  • motherboard: MSI Z87- G45 gaming motherboard
  • Psu: (new) Thermaltake smart 750 watt, (old) thermaltake 700w
  • Cpu: intel i7- 4790k
  • RAM: Hyperx fury 8gb (2x)
  • CPU cooler: Cosair h90

Thanks for everyone who are reading this post.

PS: You don't see it in the video, but my cpu fans are running for a second.

looks like a short circuit to me. are you sure all cables are correctly connected and touching no metal somewhere? is your mobo touching the backplate of the case?

id unplug every cable and put it back in to make sure.

Try to fimly press the 24 pin connector in again. I hae the same motherboard and had a problem similar before because the connection wasn't secure.
