Well, if you want things to load fast, get an SSD.

I don't really have an opinion on notebooks because I've never owned one.

a notebook it a type of laptop isn't it maybe we are both mssing something and loptops are some new hip piece of tech

strap a car battery to a desktop.

I'd definitley recommend to buy a lightweight laptop with only an SSD and no extra fancy graphics, for college etc. And if you want a gaming machine, get a nice PC. I personally tried to get away with only buying a 'powerfull' laptop for everything. Didn't work out too well. I couldn't stand the miserable performance of my laptop and had to pony up for a gaming rig after only 2 years! -..-
