RAM Frequency Question

Go to solution Solved by Enderman,

my cpu is haswell will it run a little unstable or wear down my components faster if i do so? Also i use stock cooler

its fine

just make sure your temps are safe

My simple question is: my bios auto set my ram freq to 1333mhz and my ram is 2400. In the bios i can simply select any freq i want to higher it to like 1600 or 1866? Do i just change it and everything will be fine or do i need to take steps to be able to run it like that. My pc specs are in my sig.

More than likely your motherboard will allow setting an XMP profile and this will set things up correctly. But if for some reason you don't have that then you will need to set the frequency and other settings to those listed for your RAM on its spec sheet including the voltage.
