I cant find my SSD

I just bought a new SSD, but I cant find it in Devices and Drives:

However I did find it in the CPUID Temperature Monitor

Now how can I fix this, am I doing something wrong?

Open windows Disk Management tool and initialise it. (I think thats what its called off the top of my head)

 

The drive should should show up and you have to create a volume, its been a while since I did this, but I think thats it

Open disk manager and make sure it has been assigned a drive letter:

Click the Windows button (start) and type: diskmgmt

Then press enter.

 

It should open the Windows disk management program.

Is it plugged into a working SATA port with a working SATA cable? Is the port enabled in the BIOS?

That's because it's unallocated. Right click on the Unallocated area and click "New Simple Volume." Follow the onscreen prompts.

Now all you have to do is create a volume, like Godlygamer said.

Then right-click on that icon and select something like Assign Drive Letter, or Change Drive Letter and Paths.

Assign it to a letter that is not already taken.

 

Then you will be able to see it in Drives and Devices, and can begin using it in Windows.

Ok I just did that and it now shows up in Devices and Drives, now ho I use itow d to start up with Windows?

It'll appear there whenever Windows starts.

I meant putting windows 10 on it, then starting it up so that it is faster than my HDD

You will need to either clone your hard drive over to the SSD or perform a fresh install of Windows. The latter is usually recommended.
