@coen113 can you please look up if my asus p8h61 mx usb3 supports powered off charging?

 

There mgiht be a chance that it might bring up power while idle. What is the power draw on your extern?

OOHH! Well that would only draw much power if it was working. If it's just idle with nothing inside there wouldn't be a real concern.

depends on the drive, if you mobo supports, it, which i cant find out, so little chance, maybe 0,1 watts, which is veeerry little
