Budget minded cpu for build

So I'm trying to piece together a pc for my niece. She's young and only games she really plays are Blizzard games (World of Warcraft, Hero's of the Storm ect) and am trying to swap her over to a lower end Intel build since something is wrong with her current AMD build. I was wondering if a Intel Q3400 series processor would run these games drcent. Price is the major issue trying to keep it down as much as possible.

A pentium g3258 would work great

A Q3400 would be waaaay less than ideal.

What GPU is going with the build and what is your budget? Also, if you already have some components that you can use throwing them into this> http://pcpartpicker.com/ and linking the build would be helpful.

Considering used parts to keep price a low as I can. I told my mom who is paying for it that I'd try to keep the cost around $150. We have everything we need to build the system minus a mobo and processor.

With DDR2 or DDR3? I don't remember if the Q3400 was on DDR3 for its time

We already have 8gb of gskull ram, corsair 650 watt ps4 750gb HD and a less than ideal older AMD 4950. Problem is even with as bad as the GPU is we need to prioritize the mobo and cpu first since they are not functioning at all.

so 150$ for mobo+cpu? pentium g3258 could be a good choise. but you can get 4 core amd for about the same price... depending where you are going to buy them from, you should look at possible bundles. if you can get cpu+mobo with a bundle its going to be cheaper

Would a 4 core AMD perform better than an Intel in Blizzard games like WOW? Another Spain part I got is we have two of these motherboards laying around.

http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4727

But unsure as they both would need to be tEstes and might be faulty.

Assuming that's 8GB of DDR3. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/RsCF4D $172 for an i3 and H97. H97 will come with some things she can grow into, full SATA III support, USB3.0, RAID, etc. Worth $22 IMO, especially if you're trying to make the system last.

Yea I'm trying to figure it all out. Having growing room would be good for her. She's only 6 and right now only plays the Blizzard games with my mom lol. Considered the i3's as an option also. The most dificult part is just trying to keep costs around $150-175. Also yes the ram kit is 8gb 1600mhz.

i3 is also a good option in my opinion, but i think its going to be more expensive. pc for a 6 year old.... i didnt have a pc when i was six. unfair.

speaking of keeping it in the budget... i just spent 150 euros on a keyboard. 5/5 would spend that money on keyboard again its awesome. i can get my money back if i want to tho.

Lol yea I didn't have a pc at that age either. It was helpful in getting them there pcs that my mom and I can reuse some of our parts to put them together something. My mom, niece and nephew all play WOW together. It's actually pretty cool and they all have a lot of fun. I've talked with my mom and a $175 ish budget will be ok. I did tell her though that at some point it would probably be a good idea to upgrade my nieces gpu as she's using my very old amd 4950.
