So my buddy wants to play fallout, we saw a video where the guy was using the G3258 OC'ed @ 4.3 with a EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB FTW ACX gpu playing fallout 4 at medium to high settings at 48 fps average, since my friend has never played on a desktop only laptop, we went with a budget build for him and also because his steam library isn't big right now, he does want to play fallout 4 and tf2 at mid to high settings and rocket league at the same settings (maybe GTA v at at any setting but anything above 30 fps). Also some photoshop in there :) So here it is, his budget is really small and he said that was good enough

Thanks :)

that psu will not cut it, you need a better psu.

nowadays more and more games require a quad core, so get the AMD X4 860K

and you will need to get another motherboard to fit that 860K :)

:( alright, you people make these Build logs in less than 10 minutes and I spend minimum a whole day researching the products :) oh well xD thanks for helping

haha dont worry :) i build PCs almost every week, so yeah. that helps. Its easy to make pcpartspicker lists, but its not as easy to visualize the completed pc, and building it , looks ect2

1)I would recommend a cheaper simpler motherboard.

2) you wont be able to overlclock the g3258 much without a good cpu cooler, i would recommend just using an i3 4160, unless you enjoy overclocking and tinkering.

3) i think we can do btter than a 750 ti at this price point  :)

4) 1tb hdd.

5) get windows licence from discounters like kinguin.net

6) that monitor is ok, but i think an IPS would be better. maybe. unless u really do need that 1ms , which most people dont really need, esp coming from laptop/console.

7) whats your max budget, and your if-possible budget?

I'm confused as to why that PSU won't cut it... a friend's PC I built has only a 500W, a 750 TI, and an 8 core AMD FX-6300 CPU overclocked 30%.

Runs just fine on a 500W Bronze power supply...

Desktop: KiRaShi-Intel-2022 (i5-12600K, 5060 Ti) Mobile: Moto Razr 50 Ultra (Razr+ 2024) | 30GB CAN+US+MEX $30/month
Laptop: Lenovo Yoga 7i (16") 82UF0015US (i7-12700H, 16GB/2TB RAM/SSD, A370M GPU) Tablet: Lenovo Tab Plus (256GB)
Camera: Canon M6 Mark II | Canon Rebel T1i (500D) | Canon SX280 Music: Spotify Premium (CIRCA '08)

Max budget would be 600 with keyboard and monitor. I don't really see a difference in 1 ms and 6 ms, he's a big Quake player tho if that helps

Hes afraid of build quality and reliability i think. Imho, the 500b works fine as long as you dont push it to the limit on a daily basis.

So I just went on the Kinguin site, 20 dollars for windows 10? Fallout for 40? If that's true would that be a plus to take the OS from here and buy it there?

yeah it works. you can pm me if u have any problems.

most of the games there, ull get codes which you activate in steam. those written "gift" take longer as someone will "gift" it to you. but mostly its activation code.

Would be great if u used my referral link, maybe ill get some kick back if u buy something. Its your choice tho :)

ps. dont buy those "random steam key" for 1usd nonsense, ull get crap games.

Okay look at this, I just started watching tech source again after stopping in November since I broke my phone

How's this

https://youtu.be/uKcrrOKXRdI

By the looks, I think this would suit my friend perfectly right? He does play alot, he clocked in over 100 hrs on his lost acc, and his laptop could run it at 60 fps high settings. Should he get this since he's pretty new to other games other than tf2 and Quake on a laptop :P

If I click the referral link, what do I do next, just buy a game/OS? Will you get anything out of it?

Its alright, but you will suffer in modern games with that 860k.

I can whip out another cheaper build, but if you can afford the price of 600 i would recommend this one.

but ill try make one based on the amd 6300 , brb.

Considering the guy was playing gta v at max settings, i think if they were lowered to high they would do it?remember, the budget is 600 max, no overboard, that includes keyboard and monitor, 1080p... Also sure ill use your link and get the os from there :)

It ended up being the same price actually. with the fx6300.

Sure the video you showed me was 450usd.

but thats a 270x vs 380

no windows

no monitor

much weaker cpu.

with the fx6300, its still almost 600usd.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Tk4YMp

Ultra at 50 fps? https://youtu.be/NS8OLKLZUc4

Anything you can lower? He doesn't have alot of games, he only has 18 most of them being stuff like binding if Issac, then there is tf2, Orion, and then Fallout 4. Also bith of us are pretty new at OC'ing :/

Well hes build isnt including a monitor, nor windows. thats an additional 120usd. not to mention its a 270x vs a 380

also the 860k is really crappy.

either go for the intel build earlier . or this build:

CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor  ($98.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: ASRock 970 Pro3 R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard  ($56.98 @ Newegg)
Video Card: PowerColor Radeon R9 380 4GB PCS+ Video Card  ($164.99 @ Newegg)
Case: NZXT Source 210 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case  ($36.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply  ($38.98 @ Newegg)
Monitor: AOC I2269VW 60Hz 21.5" Monitor  ($99.99 @ Best Buy)
Other: Windows 10 Pro ($20.00)
Total: $595.79

this fx6300 will see better frame rate (than i3 4160, by 2-5fps on average) in newer games with more core util. like gta v/witcher 3/assissns syndicate.
the cpu does however tend to run bit louder. but shouldnt be much of an issue.

i cant lower anything without impacting overall pc usage performance. smaller hdd yea is cheaper but its horribily slow for day to day usage.

less ram maybe, buy if u like surfing the web and gaming, listening music at the same time,u will need it.

that gpu is already awsome at that price,

maybe u can find a cheaper case.

if you overclock the 6300 you will also see gains. But ill leave that for later, maybe you can learn to experiment with it yourself. And even at stock it is sligtly bit faster than 4160 in games.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/rQjB23, he said this is okay, 8 dollars over the budget but he said it was alright since he lives the look of the keyboard and its an optical mouse with led backlights, but wouldn't the CPU bottleneck with the 380?
