MacBook 2015

Go to solution Solved by Mew,

everyone at my school who has an air wants a pro now because of me. It's a lot better and it's amazing. Screen is sex, performance is more than needed, and it's build quality is amazing. JUST GET IT AND BE HAPPY

Yeah, there are two pros at my school and I can't stand the MBA screen.

Looks like refurb MBP is the way to go, thanks everybody  :D

Like I said before, please check out the xps 13 and asus zenbook ux303/305 before deciding. They are the true premium (built) laptop competition to the macbook.

um no, I had an xps 13 before I got the rmbp, it was pretty bad, battery lasted 3.5 hours max and build quality was far from perfect

@TheCovertCamper, dont get the xps13

Don't know what you were doing with it (unless faulty battery).... I've gotten better than that running straight mncp 5.1 drilling the thing (that's about a 58% constant load) from 100-0.

But in either event if you read my first comment/linked review I actually believe the Zenbook has a better build quality (at least since it's a very rigid metal unibody.) The soft-touch of the xps 13 can be a bit outputting, but the only real negative imho is the slight keyboard flex (after 10 seconds of configuration, I have had absolutely no touch pad issues like so many bitch about).

Is it reasonable to Hackintosh one of those to keep my Adobe license?

I don't know. Probably, but you would have to look it up. The UX303/5 is so much cheaper than the MPA that it still is a better value.

I used it at school with Photoshop, lightroom and premiere and it just KILLED the battery. The soft touch was nice but there were many slight imperfections in it (not a problem but just shows the QC) and it was just overall meh. Keyboard kinda sucked too. The macbook pro has a WAY BETTER feel and quality, and I got mine cheaper than I got the xps so it was good for me

To each their own, I'm personally not a fan of the MBP at all (like almost none of it, except for the shell, but perhaps amusingly, I'd never pay that much for a laptop). I actually got my XPS 13 factory refurbished (its the near top of the line UHD+ broadwell version) and as such paid a paltry 799 USD (new was 1399). Pretty different perspectives then when you are looking at a much cheaper computer as we all know.

Perhaps this seems odd, but I'm very proud of finding this thing at that price...

ohh you had the broadwell one, they changed the battery on that unit. I would've kept my xps if the battery was fine D:
