New CPU Options.

I intend to invest in a better CPU in the upcoming months.

My Question is. Do i really need it? I play all the Triple A Titles at High/Ultra When I can( Which is almost all the time)

But is an i7 even necessary or am I okay with my current CPU for the upcoming year?

My Budget would be $300-350

A CPU upgrade may help in some titles but barely. And if you plan to go i7, you will need to shell out at least 450 USD as you will need to upgrade the Mobo also

Rig: Thermaltake Urban S71 | MSI Z77 G45-Gaming Intel Core i5 3570K (4.4Ghz @ 1.4v) CM Hyper 212 EVO | Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB | MSI GTX 660 | Kingston 120GB SSD | Seagate 3TB HDD | EVGA 850W B2

No, buy an SSD. I have a 4460 and a 4690k and I barely notice the difference. Both are fine for gaming.

I am pretty sure that your I5 will be good for the next year or two before you notice any real performance issue occuring from it. Currently games aren't utilising the hyper threading technology of the I7 very well so I5 is still good enough. If you plan on streaming/rendering however the upgrade will have a nice impact on those applications.

That's coming from someone who is using an I7 920 still and even I am far from expieriencing any bottleneck coming from the CPU
