So im debating upgrading my Main PC or my laptop, and after having a thread the other day about upgrading my desktop, i figured now ill start asking for recommendations for my laptop, presently i have a 2010 Lenovo ideapad z570, im looking for a laptop with a better processor and graphics card, ideally no optical drive, What do you all recommend with a  hard max budget of 2000USD ?

I don't have it, but if I were to buy a laptop, I would get the Razer Blade. I would get the stealth one, which doesn't have amazing specs, but the who GPU plug in thing is sweet and I would love to do that.

PC SPECS: Athlon 860k, MSI 380 4GB, 8GB memory, 1TB HDD, Fractal Design Core 1000

I have a huge spreadsheet on this exact topic actually. I cant really show it to you since it is made for my exact needs and wouldn't be that amazing but in the end the best 2 options came out to be the Alienware 17 and the sager computer that linus reviewed recently.  Since they both can be customized and each have some features the other doesn't its kindof a personal preference at that point.

The 17 specifically is actually pretty good compared to a lot of other laptops at around the same price point.  All the other ones though 13, 15, 18 are pretty overpriced though at the same price point.

I've been running an MSI GS60 Ghost for the last year, and I love the thing. Thin, light, and surprisingly powerful without a huge amount of compromises.

That said, you might want to wait a little. With external graphics card enclosures becoming a thing, you might want to hold out for some of the new stuff so you don't have to deal with mobile GPU's that can't be upgraded.

I bought my alienware 17 R2 for a pretty incredible deal from the Microsoft store. They are always overpriced directly from dell, but good elsewhere typically. my AW runs an intel 4710 i7, GTX 980m, 16gb Ram, 1080p touch, 128 gb ssd boot, and 1 tb storage. No bloat wear, awesome feel, 2 year accidental warranty - and still spent less than 1800... Spent an extra 150 on a graphics amplifier to use with a 970 as a dock. . . but sense built my PC that I use at home instead.

Lots of choices out there though, and each person will be different, hence why there are so many choices. . .

my two cents, which is actually worth about 2 cents less than the referred price.
