MSI 970 Gaming disconnecting from everything

First off my specs:

AMD FX-6350 OC'd to 4.4 GHZ

MSI 970 Gaming MOBO

XFX R9 270X

8GB G.Skill RAM

Windows 10 on 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD for storage

I have noticed here recently that anything i plug into my USB ports or sata ports will randomly be disconnected for about 5 seconds to a few minutes. This includes my SSD but not the HDD, mouse, keyboard, wifi adapter, flash drives, and my 360 controller. My case also has 2 USB 3.0 connectors on the front and are plugged in but then i connect anything to it they will light up like they are getting power but thats it. Flash drives dont show up. my wifi adapter just shows a very dim solid blue light. Is this something going wrong on my mobo?

All the drivers have been updated and it is still occuring. It is starting to no longer read my cd drive either. I have this as a dual boot with linux mint and it is occuring in linux as well. I have a windows 8 pro install disk and im about to try it an see what happens.

I would RMA that board. Used to see things like this a lot a long time ago with Via chipsets. It's usually a symptom of the north bridge controller slowly failing.
