Sorry for posting again on here but when my previous question wad answered I realised that the 558s may not be the best headphones around £100 as they are now fairly old, are there any newer ones that provide a good sound quality

i dont know much about it but i dont think that they are bad because they are old

You won't really get anything better for 100 bucks. But if you want to get a bit better sound, there's a mod that you can do to the 558 which makes it sound a bit better. Just Google "HD 558 foam mod".

It's a no show for the Takstars and the Gemini is £120, which i can afford but do you think it is worth it

Nah the Gemini was $70 USD at one point, it's good but it's not £120 good.

Where are you shopping?

On Amazon.uk I see the Sennheiser 280 Pro and Sony MDR 7506/V6 all under £80, they might not have the best sound-stage but are pretty well regarded closed headphones.

As a personal user of the 558's, I can tell you my experience. I've owned the Razer Carchairas, Philips Phidelio L2 and now the 558's.

The 558's have amazing quality and clearity. They're comfortable, proper over ear (however, with really big ears you might hit a piece of plastic that's in there for idfk), have a removable cable, and are size adjustable. What's not to love. I would recommend it any day to almost anyone.

However.

If you are a big basshead, a big fan of bassy electronic music and that kind of stuff, STAY AWAY from the 558's. Don't get me wrong, I love my portion of nice bass and of course the 558's, but I can live without the bass being bigger the mids and highs. The bass on this thing is really good, but not for anything that's bass focused.

(Fyi: I listen to Rock, Metal and some electronic like Krewella and Blue Stahli.)

Basic guide to CPU's!

If I said I were 14, you would call me a kid. If I say 70, you’ll entitle me too old. If I say 20 you say I’m inexperienced and if I say 40 than I'm too boring.

See the main purpose for the headphones is for gaming, but I do listen to Hip Hop like Kendrick Lamar

I listened to some rap if that helps, and that sounded pretty fukken sweet for the record :P

When it comes to gaming, I've tried multiple. In CS:GO, I could hear the footsteps pretty well but not amazingly (but that can be my bad focusing skills)

I've also tried Insurgency, and it sounded pretty fukken sweet.

Leakage is surprisingly well for an open back headphone. It also largely depends on your background noise. If your background noise is normal, and you listen to normal listening levels, you'll barely hear leakage. However, if you go blasting with low background noise, expect leakage.
