I am assuming you didn't purchase windows considering you said you copied the files to your drive.

Sooo

I would advise you to go buy Windows or

make the USB bootable.

You can't simply copy the ISO file onto the USB, you need to use a tool like Rufus to format it correctly and make it bootable.

EDIT:

You can also use Microsoft's media creation tool which will download the ISO and create the bootable USB for you.

It's only for Windows.

But I think you may be able to make a bootable USB from an ISO using disk utility.

Do you know how?

yeah just use that windows 10 media creation tool, you can make a bootable USB from there, then you can enter your windows 8 key and it should install. there is a possibility that windows won't fully install sometimes, honestly ive done this hundreds of times and the only way to fix it is to just keep trying. sometimes it takes 5 or 6 tries.

Thanks

Found the good old trusty screen voiceover tutorial guy:

You can use disk utility or terminal to do this but he uses Bootcamp assistant.

Bootcamp assistant is used to run windows on mac but if you do what he tells you in the video you can create a normal bootable windows install USB
