I'm looking for some help on a build. I would like to build a machine that I can run a hypervisor on, with ability to have at least one VM be a gaming vm (hardware is not my strong point).

Budget: 1.5k - 2k (cheaper is better)

Uses: Gaming, Software Dev (db server, web host, visual studio), NAS

Monitors, keyboard/mouse do not need to be included in the price as I already have those.

If any of you could give me a build or 2 that would work I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,

Edit: Onboard video is fine for me for the main system if it comes with it otherwise I have a couple older gpu's I can use for the main system so that is 1 less gpu needed in this build.

You should really build a dedicated NAS with ECC memory if your data is at all important

i3 stuff starts at around $300 for the RAM/motherboard/CPU

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

This is what I came up with. It has 1TB harddrive for OS and stuff and 8TB harddrive for NAS. There is 1 GPU for gaming and you can use your old GPU's for setting up NAS
