I used to play it, thought it was pretty good. The main game never appealed to me much after the new combat updates. I did quit a while back though, didn't feel I played enough to justify paying a monthly subscription. I just hope they do something about the bots, they ruin the game imo...

Compared to the crap runescape of today, it's brilliant. I started playing that Oldschool runescape when it came out, and it's still not the best snapshot of runescape.

I think that's kind of the point, my favorite parts about it was the nostalgia and the simple graphics/game-play.

Graphics I can live it, but mindless repetitive gameplay, I've outgrown. Not to mention the community went downhill around 2007-08.

I can agree that the game-play isn't for everybody (I quite enjoy it however), I thought the community on Old School was amazing, most people playing it were older, you rarely see any annoying immature kids on it.

Wish it was F2P for the free area. I was never a member back in 2006-2007, but I would love to be able to play with the simple mechanics there were before without having to pay.

Well there's not nearly as much effort by Jagex to get rid of them in Old School as there is in the main game. And truthfully, there's always going to be bots on whatever server they make, as long as there's enough people who play it.

I loved runescape for years, it was the best and i was a member for several years until the kept raising the prices of the monthly fee. I remember when it was under 3 dollars a month to be a member, it was awesome!

It was a fun game to play with friends when I was younger, plus being free was a huge advantage at the time

There is a nice nostalgic feeling for a while but it gets old and repetitive if you quit before. Unless you are a very enthusiastic OSRS fan, it WILL get boring.

Thought it was a crappy game and never understood why people got so addicted to it, MMORPGs just have that effect on people I guess but I have never got into one.

I use to play the hell out of Runescape. Started back in around 2006 and played up until around 3 months ago. There was some breaks in my playing but for the most part I enjoyed it. Got my first character to the max level, had multiple pures all that fun stuff. I quit because I just can NOT stand the updates they put out, from the moment they first changed the graphics of the D scim I was wondering when the game would start to fall.  They just keep adding shit that isn't benefiting the game like that squeal of fortune bs. I played 07 scape for a while. Almost had a decent pure was just too lazy to do all the quests again. What made me quit is the dying community. When I started it was all about helping someone out. Now it's all about trying to scam and "troll". Needless to say, I enjoyed my time playing the game, but I am done with it. Forever.

I was thinking the same, use to be like 200+ people online at a time a couple years ago. Now it's like 30-40k lol.

i think there gonna drop aloud of servers on rs3 to make the game feel more full.

Old Runescape? God I loved that game ... Was awesome, but I took a break from it because I played it too much, legitimately 3+ hours a day, and when I came back to play it again? They'd updated it lots and I don't like it anymore. I'm done with it now, the only way I'd ever go back is if they put it back to the way it was ... But since that won't happen ... I'm done.

I prefer RS3 to 2k7, I got bored of the repetitive click and wait just before EoC came out. I played the closed beta and loved it, however I have 2 issues:

They ruined the look of the armor, everything looked epic, now it just looks like cheap plastic fantasy armor (corrupt looks amazing though, and so does dragonhide)

The new level calculator punishes player like me, who level all their skills in a balanced way, while rewarding pures, who level up a single skill)

I guess I'm a jack of all trades, with levels of 56 to 62 in all combat skills (magic & defense are 62, constitution is 61, attack and strength are 60, and range is 56)

I'm level 126, but a player who just joined a week ago and trained magic to 70 (no-lifer) and defense to 54 gets the same level, with level 1 everything else.

It's not fair, I have over 800,000 xp in my combat skills, but the one player with just 300,000 xp can get a higher level, and calls me a noob because of it. In the old system, I'd be a 80, and he'd be a 40.
