Upgrade Options

Go to solution Solved by minibois,

Okay, this is pretty simple. G3258 and HD 7850, which should I upgrade first and what should I get with a $250 budget?

Anything higher than a 7850 will be bottlenecked by the Pentium.

What could do is go for an i5 4460, which is about 180 dollars and that leaves you with 70 dollars. If you sell your GPU for about 70 dollars (should be do able) you could get a second hand R9 280x or so, which will give slightly higher performance. Or you just stick with your 7850 and upgrade that later

I would go with a CPU. A nice i5, nothing skylake, so that you could keep your mobo and RAM to keep the costs down.

If I could do this, it would be perfect, especially since I bought that GPU for $50. $140 towards an upgrade plus the 4460 would be perfect.
