Hows HHKB treating you?

Great! The 45G on the Pro2 is of course lighter than those on my Topre RF, but I like it as well. only change I'd made was to change the 'Delete' key to BS.....it's a Topre hybrid switch, what's not to like? ;)  Just found out that stock of the Topre 104UB-DK is in......so tempting! Must resist!!!

I wish i got the HKBB instead of the YOTD a little over a year back... the HKBB was only ~70 dollars more when you include the keycaps i bought my YOTD. I also kinda wish i waited for the ducky shine TKL instead of buying the YOTD... not really much user benefit to having it. and im not really a collector. The benefits of a backlight keyboard is overrated, I almost never look at my keyboard when typing.

I have a 2019 macbook pro with 64gb of ram and my gaming pc has been in the closet since 2018

I got a Ducky Shine 2 with MX Blue switches. Aswell as the Steelseries 6Gv2 using MX Black switches. I will be picking up the Ducky Shine 3 with red switches as soon as possible.

Ducky makes great keyboards.

I was at the peripheral specialty shop looking for some custom USB cables, found one and made the mistake of looking around. Saw a little Keycool box at the corner and asked about it, they told me it was a KB they had used for display purposes, and that it was for sale at a nice discount. The moment I saw it lit up.....I was hooked, line and sinker. It's a nice little 84 key MKB with Black switch, and I'm using it to type this very post......so loving Blacks now. Anyway, here's a pic, just hope the YOTS comes soon and I won't visit that treacherous shop anymore. As I'd said, it was a display unit and only after posting this pic do I realize that it's a tad dusty, will clean it up later.

Close up of the space bar area, there is a metal plate and it looks like the switches are mounted on it....

On a side note, Keycool does provide some nice key caps, I'm presently using the Batman logo on my 'Esc' key.....what the heck is the middle one supposed to be?

Thanks! I had found out about it in a local tech forum, really mentally kicking myself for not recognizing it.

Running a Razer Blackwidow Ultimate, she is a few years old now, and has taken quite a beating from my 2yr old. (he has literally put the keyboard on the ground and stood on it, he is 40lbs) I am very impressed with the keyboard and I love the feel and sound. Everyone that I let type on it loves it.

I received my Ducky Shine 3 yesterday. I went with Cherry MX browns, white backlighting, and got the optional leather wrist rest as well. So far, I can confidently say this keyboard destroys my Max Keyboard Nighthawks and I have officially been converted from Cherry MX blues to Cherry MX browns. The keyboard is heaven to type on and the fade effect is really awesome.

Now, I think you get why there is a huge Ducky following here, the keyboard (much like Filco, Leopold, certain model of CM seires, etc) have this rectangular shape that is so pleasing to the eyes. Added to the fact that, being black, it leaves the door open for a wide variety of key caps to replace stock key caps. They would not look good on, say, MKB's with the 'gaming' moniker that are oddly shaped. That's why you see me getting Filco's, Duckys, Keycool, Topre RF, HHKB, etc....all have these two things in common:

Rectangular shape

Matt finishing......dislike shiny surfaces which are fingerprint magnets

Also, Ducky build quality is pretty damn good, perhaps not up to Filco's, but difference between them is negligible at best. Another thing you'd notice about brands like Ducky and Filco, true plug and play.....no driver required as the generic Windows driver is sufficient.

currently I have a cm storm quickfire tk with brown switches.

thinking about getting a ducky shine III TKL because i dont like the way the qickfire tk does the 10-key.

over all i love the board thought the caps are starting to shine and where i rest my thumb under the space bar has gone shiny.

I'm getting rid some of my keyboard....

because...

because...

I cant resist a KMAC, ordered one from Originative

Dear lord.... I'm in the making of my dream keyboard with my dream custom switch

Now I need some high quality classic looking keycaps

Hey, good luck with that KMAC (2?) build, do post some pics when you're done....I'm just not into buying the parts and assembling it myself......haven't reached that stage yet.....thank god!

As for HHKB Lite 2, nope, not too keen on a membrane KB, even if it's by HHKB.

hey if you dont want to do the work I can. I would have stuck with topre if I didnt like the programability of keyboards like the kmac so much.
