Worth what?

Is it worth buying 144 Hz at 1440p

Don't be fooled by the bottom line of my sig, that is just for my travels.

So you're telling me that Gaben is no God? Enough of your foolishness.

My hardware you ask? I'm using a Dell Inspiron 3217 Notebook... With an LG 25UM57.

Is 144hz worth it on a 1440p ips panel?

Yes because all 1440p ips 144Hz monitors have either Gsync or Freesync.

It's only really worth it if you are looking to play FPS games or games that require higher framerates (>60). Also, take in account the power of you graphics card in order to drive your resolution.

It's fine.  IPS and 144Hz is a very good combo.

If you have a beefy enough GPU to get 100+ frames on the games you play then it's worth it for any type of game in my opinion. Not just for competitive gaming like most people tend to say. The picture is simply smoother and more fluid, more responsive. Everything about it feels better.

Its only worth if u have enough horse power to keep it running.

And since u had to ask then its probably not worth enough to you or you arent ready just yet.

Its not easy to keep 100fps+ in every game you play.
