GTX 970 or AMD R9 390 for Video Editing and Gaming at 2560x1080

390 since you're above 1080p making the 390 about 10% faster

According to your system you have a GTX 970. Is there a certain reason you're recommending the 390 as compared to the 970?

 

I just ran across this comparison today and remembered this thread. AC Unity is heavily CPU bound and the 970 still wins even at 2560x1080. But you can see the 390 handles the resolution better for the most part.

I remember that video and wanted to post it, but for some reason my brain was playing tricks on me and I remembered it as being a 3440 x 1440 video.
