Go to solution Solved by AnnoyedShelf,

i bought this card on black friday for around 200$ and was pretty satisfied. is this card cheap crap or is it good? i have it installed in my system atm and i love it.. what do you guys think?

It's a blower, but it's great for SLI.  You really can't go wrong with Asus.

It's a dual blower cooler so it's more optimized for SLI, but it's not a bad card :)

Oh don't get me wrong, i'm rocking 2x 970s in SLI, you got an absolute bargain. I paid £240 a month ago for my 2nd EVGA 970 which is roughly $400

The 390 is better by like ~5% which doesn't = $100

Don says my PSU is cheap crap too, welcome to the club brother. Don is salty because his card died, but the funny thing is if you have problems it's user error

Don't mind Don, he's alright.

If I owned AMD I'd buy Don a hooker. Not a Boulder highway hooker but a casino girl. And right after they're done she's hand him a Fury.

1) its a 970, so yes its good

2) it looks awesome IMO, aside from not having a backplate

3) it doesnt perform much better than a reference cooler, but again, its a 970, reference cooler is perfectly fine

4) enjoy it, dont regret it :)

Have you seen the VRM temps on the 390? I pushed into the high 90c all the time overclocking, the crossfire temps were out of control.

But that's the baby Jesus 390, so it's all good, right?

Have you ever heard me say it's good? What are your Vapor-X VRMs though?

Or the reference cooler's VRMs that are on a separate heatsink?

Or the VRMs on the MSI 390?

VRM cooling is important for good OCs...........

Very true, the Nitro is not and should not be used as a means of measurement for the 390. But as for Asus they mean to have the temps higher on their cards, could be mumbo jumbo but I haven't heard people lining up to complain.

I can attest. Their fans max out at 40% for my card even if it's 80*C.
