Help me please! My PC keeps crashing due to PSU Surge issues!

I built my PC on Christmas Day, and it uses the XFX Proseries TS-450 Power supply (it was recommended by a user on this forum). On boxing day, it surged and the system restarted, giving this message: http://imgur.com/QY4c77Z

No problems arose until I was playing games on new years day (yesterday) when, during bootups - or within five minutes of a boot, the PC would crash, and restart with the same message. I've sent a support ticket to Amazon, but there has been no reply yet, and i have attempted everything, including

 - Reseating connections

 - Changing the power cable

 - Changing wall socket

etc. but the issue keeps on occurring. Should i be worried? and should I stop using it until the issue goes away?

The specs can be found here: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/dis_the_chris1/saved/QFWCmG

Please reply quickly. Thank you!

 - Chris

Asus' Anti-Surge is notorious in giving false reports and shutting the PC off, even on high-end PSUs like the Seasonic X. In fact, Raja of Asus' Technical Marketing team even stated that it "crudely works" and "you can disable it if you wish" on their forum: https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?48472-Is-it-ok-to-disable-asus-anti-surge

So I would too advice you to do so, and unless you are indeed experiencing some issues with your PC, I would not worry about it, TBH.

I Did that and it still is shutting off randomly.

I don't have a second one on hand.

It may be worth upgrading your PSU to a higher output one? Maybe minimum 500W rather than 450W

My Rig:

Xeon E5 1680 V2 @ 4.5GHz - Asus Rampage IV Extreme X79 Mobo - 64GB DDR3 1600MHz - 8 x 8GB Corsair Vengeance Low Profile - CAS 10-10-10-27 - AMD Radeon RX 6700XT Sapphire Pulse 12GB - DeepCool E-Shield E-ATX Tempered Glass Case - 1 x 1TB Crucial P1 NVMe SSD - BeQuiet Straight Power 11 850W Gold+ Quad rail - Fractal Design Celsius S36 & 6 x 120mm silent fans - Lenovo KBBH21 - Corsair Glaive RGB Pro - Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit

UPDATE: It only appears to do it when gaming. I've not been playing anything for over an hour now and it hasnt rebooted. Is that a common issue?

When I picked out the machine, it said 360W recommended. I got the 450 because it had higher output than recommended, so I dont think that would be the issue. It's worked fine for the whole week, and its only started now. Everything is stock with no overclocks.

If you look on Nvidia's website it says that this GPU needs 400W minimum, I feel that although it is 450W you cannot run absolutely everything on it including the GPU's amount. I may be wrong but it may also be worth asking an IT shop if you can borrow a higher output PSU. Just to troubleshoot really.

I notice pcpp tends to understate power requirements. You may want to invest in a higher rated psu.

A system with a non-OC 4670k with a GTX 960 will draw under 250wDC. A XFX TS 450w is plenty, so even if the spare PSU work, all that tell you is that the PSU was defective and he should RMA it.

Are you using any sort of extension, btw?

Not sure what you mean by extension.

Not sure what you mean by extension.

A set of cables that extend the length of the original cables of your PSU.

Something like this:

This:

Or an adapter like this:
