Monitor goes black every few seconds

Go to solution Solved by monjanger,

I have a friend who was having the same problem.

He changed the cable (in your case, the DVI cable) and it was fixed. Faulty/Dead cable :P

It could be your power cable, for the monitor.

It may be your PSU aswell :L

So my Dell 1909w is having an issue... It seems that every few seconds for a minute, my monitor flashes black and then stops after a few minutes and happens an hour later again. I thought it was me just bumping the table but I inserted the DVI and power cables at both ends and it is still happening. I bought this monitor a few months ago refurbished, so I dont know if that could be the issue. It cant be my video card overheating, because it is idling at 28 c and it is still happening... It is also a few month old GPU that has never been mined on and has been only slightly overclocked in the past, but it is stock now...

You are on a need to know basis, and you don't need to know.

Changed the cable, worked out great!
