Do this: https://www.maketecheasier.com/delete-url-from-chrome-omnibox/

when you typing in "goo" it should try to use the .com.hk link, but once you delete it it will default to your region.

Check that you downloaded chrome from the Canadian site? I sometimes get sites in Spanish, even though I live in Norway, and it has something to do with the ISP and how they route traffic I think :S

ummmmmm, no. its not like im trying to hide porn site, chrome is using google hk as default search engine, not just a site

I see now, I thought it was autocompleting to .com.hk.

Go into your chrome settings and view the Search settings. It will display your default search engine as "Google", but you need to open the "manage search engines" page to see if its Google.ca or not. If it isn't than you can just click on it to edit it.

I have to think that its a bug in chrome or something, because I cannot get my google to change to any other region even when following these:

https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95426?hl=en

https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chrome/zXRG7-AEgfw

I can get Bing, Yahoo, etc. to change regions, but not Google. It has to be a bug in Chrome.

Edit: I'm uploading some screenshots now, Chrome acknowledges that I wanted to change my google to .co.uk, but still refuses to use it. I cant even get my google.it back :'(
